Session Description: This session is designed for general pediatricians to stay updated with the latest advancements in asthma diagnosis and management, following the release of the 2020 NHLBI guidelines and GINA guidelines. With the expanded availability of medications for treating asthma in children, this course aims to equip pediatricians with the necessary skills and knowledge to provide optimal care. Participants will gain insights into distinguishing asthma from other conditions with similar presentations; understand the various risk factors for asthma and how to use predictive scores effectively; explore how SDoH influence asthma prevalence and management; Identify and utilize the latest testing methods for accurate asthma diagnosis and management; and recognize the goals of asthma therapy, with a focus on preschool wheezers, Single Maintenance and Reliever Therapy (SMART), and the use of biologics.
