Session Description: This session features leading experts in neonatal infectious diseases presenting cutting-edge research on the diagnosis, pathogenesis, and treatment of prevalent neonatal pathogens, such as E. Coli, group B Streptococcus, and Herpes Simplex Virus. Ongoing challenges and emerging strategies to better identify those infants most at risk for sepsis will be reviewed. We will present evidence-based guidelines to improve antimicrobial stewardship in the neonatal intensive care unit, as well as a real-world example of how one unit successfully implemented meaningful changes in practice. Finally, our expert panel will engage in an interactive debate regarding optimal management in a series of clinical scenarios that underscore ongoing controversies and key areas of future research
