Human trafficking continues to be a global health threat. One of the most frequent points of contact for victims of human trafficking is the emergency department. In this session, we will investigate the current state of human trafficking in the US and globally. We also move beyond the “cards in the restroom stalls” and discuss active interventions for victims presenting to the emergency department. Finally, we will hear from providers in the other countries and their efforts to fight human trafficking through culturally-tailored approaches.
