Elevated blood pressure in the newborn can be a challenge. In this session a look at the best practices for measurement of BP in the neonatal period will be reviewed. Understanding if and when to treat, the implications of treating or not, and how to treat will be discussed. Additionally, the long term implications of hypertension diagnosed in the neonatal period will also be considered.

Learning Objectives:

Upon completion, participants will be able to apply best practices for the assessment of blood pressure in premature infants.
Upon completion, participants will be able to develop a pharmacologic management plan for neonatal hypertension
Upon completion, participants will be to develop a plan for long term follow up of patients with history of hypertension in the neonatal period.
