Workshop Description: Did you know that point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) is a useful adjunct in airway management? This hands-on workshop will teach participants how to use tracheal, lung, and gastric ultrasound techniques to assess for life threatening conditions and complications related to intubation. The workshop will teach learners to identify relevant anatomic landmarks on ultrasound, use simulation to practice exam techniques on both pediatric models and phantoms, and then identify causes of respiratory failure, delivered in a small group, using a case-based format. If you care for patients in the ED, PICU, NICU, OR, or prehospital environment, you will leave this workshop with a new tool in airway assessment and management.
