Workshop Description: Effective teamwork is crucial in every domain of healthcare—clinical, educational, research, and leadership. The consequences of both low- and high-performing teams are well-documented across medical and business fields. This interactive workshop explores the art of “teaming” and focuses on how leaders can establish psychological safety to create successful teams. Participants will engage in a series of dynamic, facilitated exercises in pairs, small groups, and larger teams to practice key strategies for building trust, navigating barriers, and fostering curiosity, passion, innovation and empathy within their teams. Concepts will be reinforced with medical improv and rapid-fire drills.
In addition, we will dive into a “Leadership Toolkit,” offering practical steps for embracing vulnerability, destigmatizing failure, using humble inquiry, and ensuring all voices are heard. Participants will create a personalized leadership action plan to promote psychological safety in their teams, while receiving real-time feedback on communication and leadership styles. Grounded in evidence-based research, this workshop equips healthcare providers and educators with the tools to form deeper connections and stronger teams as leaders, resulting in more effective and fulfilling teamwork and collaboration across various settings.
