Workshop Description: Have you always wondered what all this “planning” in a PDSA cycle is about? When someone says “fishbone,” do you think of last night’s salmon filet? Is a driver just someone you find in a ride share app? If so, this workshop is for you! Come learn how to approach any quality improvement (QI) project, in any setting, in an interactive, intro-level QI workshop.
First, through interactive games and polling, we'll go through basic definitions and principles in QI (including what it is, exactly) and demystify the Method for Improvement. Then, interspersed with brief didactics, you'll work in small groups to use a real problem as an example to become more comfortable with several common QI tools. During that segment, we'll focusing particularly on key driver diagrams. Finally, together we will choose a feasible change idea and briefly discuss the data you may need to collect to conduct your high-quality QI project.
You'll leave with a better understanding of QI tools, where to find them, and where to go to learn more!
