Session will start with introductions and update to SIG.
The main talk will provide a comprehensive update on education in pediatric integrative medicine, a rapidly evolving field that combines conventional pediatric care with evidence-based complementary therapies to treat the whole child—physically, mentally, and emotionally. We will explore the latest advancements in curriculum development and national fellowship initiatives, focusing on innovative approaches such as interactive case-based learning, simulation, and the use of digital tools to enhance educational engagement and accessibility.
The presentation will highlight the integration of key components like nutrition, mind-body practices, herbal medicine, and lifestyle modifications into pediatric care, emphasizing their roles in preventive health, promoting resilience, managing chronic conditions, and supporting overall well-being in children and adolescents. We will also discuss the importance of cultural competence, ethical considerations, and interdisciplinary collaboration in delivering effective integrative care.
A key feature of the presentation will be the introduction of the "Experiential Mind-Body Buffet," a unique, hands-on approach designed to engage clinicians with a "tasting menu" of mind-body therapies and skills. This format allows participants to sample a variety of integrative techniques, such as guided imagery, clinical hypnosis, mindfulness exercises, biofeedback, yoga, and breathing techniques, in a collegial and interactive setting.
The talk aims to equip healthcare providers with up-to-date references and resources, and practical strategies to incorporate evidence-based integrative treatment into their clinical practice.
Potential poster presentations if available.
