Over the past 40 years, the Society for Pediatric Research (SPR) and now the Pediatric Academic Societies (PAS) has held an annual session to honor and present the work of outstanding clinician-scientists in the field of neonatal and pediatric cardiopulmonary disease. This year, we are pleased to to recognize the work and career of Dr. Jeffrey Fineman, Chief of Pediatric Critical Care, at the University of California San Francisco, who has been an outstanding leader in the field of pediatric pulmonary vascular disease through his laboratory work on mechanisms underlying pulmonary hypertension in neonates, infants and children with congenital heart disease (CHD). His talk will address bench to bedside issues leading to progressive changes in the lung circulation in CHD, integrating mechanisms with clinical strategies to improve outcomes.
Speaker: Jeffrey Fineman, MD (he/him/his) – UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital San Francisco
